Jap pumpkins (known also as Kent, are related to the Kabocha pumpkin). A medium-sized, round pumpkin with glossy, thin, dark green skin with pale golden brown flecks, it has a deep yellow flesh that is pleasant and nutty and can weigh up to 3 kilos.

Buying, handling and storing

The whole pumpkin should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place and can be kept for up to 2 months.  Remove the seeds from the cut pumpkin and store them wrapped in plastic wrap in the crisper section of the refrigerator. Use within 5 days.
