Also known as Sweet Persimmons. This non-astringent persimmon variety can be enjoyed eaten firm and crunchy or allowed to soften.

Select firm, bright orange fruit with smooth glossy skin. A vibrant orange skin colour indicates optimum ripeness.

Store sweet persimmon in a single layer, out of direct sunlight, at room temperature. Use within a week.

Wash the fruit, remove the stem and slice as desired. The skin is edible but is easily removed with a vegetable peeler if preferred. 

Sweet persimmon is ideal sliced and served with fresh cheese like ricotta or cottage cheese, or add thin crunchy slices to an autumn salad.
